The Holy Spirit #1
The Partnership of the Word & Spirit
The Partnership of the Word & Spirit

The Word and Spirit of God were partners at creation.
Their partnership is foundational in creativity (Genesis 1:1-3), prophecy (Numbers 24:2-3), and legacy (Isaiah 59:21).
It is also essential in testimony. One of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to testify about Jesus Christ (John 15:26), and one of His recorded functions was to anoint Jesus Christ to proclaim the gospel (Luke 4:18-19).
Any preacher of God’s word must understand this extraordinary partnership in the inspiration, interpretation, and illumination of the text.
In my next few teaching tips, I intend to talk about these fundamental concepts and also to suggest a few ideas as to how we can improve our fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
But first, may I simply encourage you to develop a deep desire for the power of the Holy Spirit to be manifest in your preaching and teaching.
Without the help of the Spirit of God, we are unable to bring the changes for which we are so desperate.
But change must start with us.
What is your attitude toward the Holy Spirit?
How would you describe your fellowship with Him?
Do you know His voice?
Does He guide you on a daily basis?
